A finance executive's IPO library

ipo.zone is my personal project: a place where I study how companies go public and turn what I learn into guides, tools and checklists that others can use.

Why I built ipo.zone

For more than fifteen years I have worked on the side of finance that makes companies investable: reliable numbers, fast closes, clean structures, defensible controls and clear reporting to owners, lenders and auditors. An IPO is the moment where all of that is tested at once, in public, against a fixed timetable.

I have always been drawn to that moment. Capital markets transactions combine everything I enjoy about finance: strategy and valuation, accounting and audit, legal structure, governance, treasury and communication with investors. ipo.zone is how I go deeper into the subject in a structured way, and how I share it.

The site focuses on the issuer's side of the table, and in particular on the work of the CFO and the finance team. It is written for the people who have to make an IPO happen, not only for those who watch it.

My path

Istanbul, Moscow, Germany. I am originally from Istanbul. I spent three years in Moscow, where I worked and completed a Master in International Business, a programme taught in English. For the past eight years I have lived and worked in Germany.

Big Four foundations. I built my technical base in audit and advisory at Big Four and international advisory firms, working with international groups on financial statements, controls and cross-border structures. That is where I learned to read a business the way auditors, banks and investors do.

Industry finance leadership. I then moved into industry, working in finance in international organisations across construction, logistics, aviation and energy. The common thread has been building and fixing finance functions in multi-country groups: group reporting and consolidation, closing processes, treasury and banking, transfer pricing and tax, ERP implementations and the controls that make numbers trustworthy.

Today. I am Head of Finance of a European construction group delivering concrete and civil works for hyperscale data centre projects. I joined as its first Head of Finance and am building the finance function across five countries, covering group reporting, treasury, transfer pricing and tax.

How I work

  • Numbers first. A story only holds if the figures behind it can be reproduced every quarter.
  • Structure before speed. Clean entities, agreements and processes make every later transaction faster.
  • Tools over slides. I like turning recurring questions into working tools. Many of the calculators on this site started that way.
  • International by default. I work in Turkish, German, English and Russian, and most of my career has been in cross-border groups.

What you will find here

Practical guides that follow the IPO from the first readiness check to life as a listed company, tools for the questions every IPO project asks, and working checklists for each phase. An IPO Tracker for five major exchanges is in development. The content is built from hands-on finance experience and a structured study of the IPO literature, and it is updated as the project grows.
